Basket Strainers are vertically oriented, maximize debris holding capacity, and minimize pressure drop. They are ideal in liquid systems.
Y Strainers are used in steam, gas, or occasional liquid systems. Oriented vertically or horizontally, they can be cleaned with a blow-off connection.
Duplex Strainers are ideal for stystems that can not be shut down for cleaning. Two screened baskets have a lever that switches between them.

Butterfly Valves are quarter-turn rotary-motion valves that use a round disc as the closure element. They can be used for on-off service as well as some throttling.
Ball Valves are quarter-turn with a round closure element. They are available for on-off service, and some throttling, with liquids, gases, and slurries.
Gate Valves are linear-motion valves that use a flat closure element that slides into the flow stream to provide shutoff. Often used in slurry service that does not require frequent operation.
